Walmart Now Offering Pre-Orders For iPhone 5

By On September 13, 2012

Customers can pre-order the new iPhone 5 from a variety of different wireless carriers, retailers, and of course, Apple themselves. But, a new option has been added to that list, and that’s Walmart. Walmart was added to this list of retailers today, where the iPhone 5 can be pre-ordered. This is the first time that iPhone pre-orders have been offered at Walmart.

Sarah Spencer, Walmart spokesperson, says that the phone can be pre-ordered at 8AM local time tomorrow in U.S. stores, and even better, Walmart will be offering discounts on the hot device, for example, the iPhone 5 with a two-year contract, you’ll be able to grab the device for a price of $189.97 instead of the $199 price that Apple offers. This in my opinion is great. Pre-ordering an iPhone 5 won’t be too hard, since there seems to be a Walmart absolutely everywhere. Older iPhones are discounted too, with the 4S going for $89 with a two year contract, and the iPhone 4 is going for 97 cents, once again with a contract.

When it comes to pre-ordering the device through Apple, you’ll be able to pre-order as early as 12:01 AM PT on September 14th, 2012, or tomorrow.

Other stores will also offer the iPhone 5, such as Best Buy, but when the device will be available for pre-orders there is unknown.

Anyone that does pre-order an iPhone 5 will be able to pick up their shiny new device on September 21st by picking them up from where ever they were preordered. The fact that Walmart is offering this is great.
