By the time, you might have seen some Hashtags trending on Facebook like #WWDC or let’s say #NBAFinals for example. But the question comes, How can you play with Facebook Hashtags? And, the answer for this is: Using Facebook Hashtag feature is very much similar to that of Twitter, Instagram and other social networks, as well.

Facebook Hashtags Lets You To:

• Search for a specific hashtag from your search bar. For example, #NBAFinals.
• Click on hashtags that originate on other services, such as Instagram.
• Compose posts directly from the hashtag feed and search results.

Facebook has updated it’s Home for Android due to the complaints registered by Facebook Home users. Facebook released this home update on June 7, which is also called yesterday for now. This update comes with two-point change log, as it’s not that big or major change.

Facebook Home now comes with a new “Favorites Tray” feature meaning, you can now customize your native app launcher with the apps you use the most through Favorites Tray. This is the only new feature included into this update, besides that usual bug fixes and improvements are made to the home. Facebook has launched Verified Pages and Profiles for the authentic accounts of Celebrities and other high-profile users. Meaning, Now you can differentiate between a FAKE page/profile and the real one.

Facebook 6.0 for iOS is currently available on the Apple App Store with Chat Heads, a new way to chat with friends throughout the app. But as mentioned in the official changelog, Chat Heads feature is scheduled to land on each iOS Device very soon over next few weeks. But can you wait that long? Definitely nope.

This is actually an unofficial tweak of getting Chat Heads on iOS through a simple modification in “Messenger_Chat_Heads_iOS” file on your iDevice. We recommend Jailbreaking your iDevice and installing iFile on it, for getting Chat Heads working on your iDevice because iFile makes this tutorial way too easy to do. Let’s get started…

Enable Facebook Chat Heads On iOS:

Step 1: Launch iFile explorer and navigate towards Facebook folder through /var/mobile/Applications.

Step 2: Inside Facebook folder, Look for “com.facebook.Facebook.plist” located in Library/Preference and open it up with “Property List Viewer”.

Step 3: After opening the plist file, Navigate towards ProjectGating > Cache and turn the “messenger_chat_heads_ios” switch “On” and, you’re ready to go.

If “messenger_chat_heads_ios” file is not there:

Step 4: Continuing from Step 3, Hit the “+” button at the bottom right corner of the file browser and enter “messenger_chat_heads_ios” in the name field and set it as a Boolean type file.

Step 5: After creating the file, You’ll notice it with the usual iOS switch, just turn the switch “On”, and you’re almost done.

Step 6: Now, Force quite your Facebook App or you may re-boot your device and you’re ready to play with Chat Heads.

For non-jalbroken iDevices, It’s kinda hard to perform this tweak manually from a PC or Mac. If you’re on iOS 6.1.3 and not jailbroken, then the only way is to copy the “com.facebook.Facebook.plist” file to your computer through any iPhone browser like DiskAid or iFunBox and edit it using Xcode or TextWrangler and replace the the edited file with the original one on your iDevice. The portion to be edited or added is highlighted below in the image.

Note: If the above highlighted portion is not there in the plist file, then you can freely add them to the plist file.

In the recent Electronic Arts Inc, had announced that It will be releasing its popular gaming series, SimCity for Mac and today, the company again made a major decision regarding its products.

Electronic Arts has announced that, It will be closing its three popular gaming titles for Facebook which are namely called as The Sims Social, SimCity Social and Pet Society. These juicy Facebook games will be retiring on June 14th, 2013 as a permanent leave from the Facebook platform. We’ve posted the official press-release from Electronic Arts, right after the line.

Today we are informing players of the difficult decision to retire some of our Facebook games: The Sims Social, SimCity Social and Pet Society.

After millions of people initially logged in to play these games, the number of players and amount of activity has fallen off. For people who have seen other recent shutdowns of social games, perhaps this is not surprising.

EA will continue to deliver popular titles for Facebook, most notably games from PopCap, including Bejeweled Blitz, Solitaire Blitz and the recently-announced Plants vs. Zombies Adventures.

We all are waiting for April 12th for the official release of Facebook Home for respective dedicated Android Devices and HTC First as well. But something strange and common happened in crowd. The pre-release version of Facebook Home just got leaked down and is currently available for download.

This HTC First Facebook phone comes in different colour variations and will be distributed by AT&T from April 12th onwards. And the pre-orders have already started just for $99 on a two year value contract.
