A new leak after Windows Phone Blue and this one’s from the connector, Nokia. Although it’s not confirmed but It’s a for sure leak, as reported by some authentic sources out there.

This new leak highlights a 41-MegaPixel Giant PureView SmartPhone featuring OLED Display, 32GB in-built storage and a polycarbonate body. Naming it Nokia Lumia EOS, the SmartPhone is said to be running the next version of Windows Phone 8 OS as an update and is also packed with some new software elements to control the killer hardware specs, especially the well-anticipated PureView camera.

We’re in the home stretch now! WWDC is almost here, and in less than a week, we’ll finally know what iOS 7 will look like, and what features it will incorporate. Until then, we’re all left to speculate about what the future could hold. Will iOS be revamped, with a new, flatter design? Or will Apple do something completely new, right out of left field? Many people have said that the future could hold a flatter looking iOS, and the WWDC 2013 posters do point to a new, colourful, flat design, whether that really refers to iOS or not is unknown at this time. Assuming iOS finally gets an overhaul, it could finally put the mobile OS back on par with its competitors, Android and Windows phone, which would do nothing but good for Apple.

The mockup of the new homescreen in iOS 7

Developer Steve King decided to give people an idea of the possible road ahead, with a mockup of iOS 7, at least the speculated version, which does incorporate a flatter design, which is very pleasant to look at. The mockup uses HTML, CSS, and Javascript to render everything, and uses no images, which is pretty cool on its own, and it makes it usable in just about any browser.

The mockup is pretty well done, but some of the icons seem to just be there for looks and serve no real purpose. The apps that do work are limited in terms of what they can do, but its a mockup, so what do you expect? In terms of a mock up, its pretty good, and I’d recommend taking a look at it, of course after you read this article.

The developer explained a few things that led to the development of this mockup:

“Based on a combination of leaked photos and the new WWDC app highlighted in our iOS 7 rumour round-up, changes to the OS will likely consist of a flatter aesthetic and less gradients.

Skeuomorphic elements will also be taking a back-seat. For anyone not au fait with the term, skeuomorphism refers to elements imitating reality. This means we can expect the Notes app to look less like a notepad for example, instead, providing a simple, clean, text ready canvas.

This should result in a consistent feel throughout each of Apple’s proprietary apps; with a black headers and tab bars as well as colour-coded accents on buttons and details helping differentiate from one app to the next.

This concept is intended to be a fun way for people to interact with an idea. From a technical point of view, the challenge was to build this entire concept without using any images and instead, building the iPhone, icons and apps solely out of CSS and HTML code.”

The mockup includes the following apps:

Messages

Calendar

Camera

Reminders

Notes

Phone

Mail

Safari

Music

It also includes a mockup of a redesigned notification center, and also improved the lock screen.

The icons in this mockup have also been changed, and personally, I like the look, and if this doesn’t get implemented into iOS, then maybe the developer can create an iOS theme or something. I think it would be pretty cool.

This is another interesting take at the future of iOS. What it may end up looking like in the final Golden Master version is still unknown to everyone at this time. It would be a very smart approach for Apple to do something like this, but you never know, Apple could do something totally unexpected, something even better. Something the user didn’t even know they wanted. Sure, Apple does seem to wait a very long time to implement change, but when they do, watch out, because huge change is ahead.

If you want to check out the mockup, you can find it here.

After a bunch of rumors and speculations, Samsung finally launched the tough and rugged version of their flagship Galaxy s4, and is called the Galaxy s4 Active. Let’s dive in into the phone!

Samsung wanted the Galaxy s4 Active to be as fast as the normal s4, and they did what they wanted! Yes, the Galaxy s4 Active has the same Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.9 GHz paired with 2 gigs of RAM! Sounds interesting, right? But the specs sheet is not filled yet! It even has an IP67 Water and Dust protection! So due to this it can last in 3 feet of water for 30 mins, and the cherry on the cake is that you can even click pictures underwater with this badboy! The camera on the s4 active has a preset called ‘Aqua Mode’ which helps to improve underwater images. Well talking of underwater there’s one more thing, The headphone jack is also a waterproof one, so you can listen to all your favorite music while swimming! What’s more? The Galaxy s4 active has a ‘Glove Touch’ display panel, which can recognize touch even when you are wearing gloves! So if there’s a snowfall outside you don’t need to take off your gloves and get hypothermia just because to use your phone(Just Kidding by the way)!

The s4 active looks a little different than the s4, and has got a lil fat too with thickness of 9.1 mm. This tough sibling also has got three physical buttons on the front, instead of only one physical home button on the fragile s4! And I think it has a sort of metal feel on the back, well I may be wrong and it might be just a textured plastic looking like metal. The s4 active looses the number of Mega pixel count to 8 MP for the primary and 2 MP for the front facing secondary camera. And it will also support 4G LTE!

The Galaxy s4 Active is expected to launch in the United States and some parts of Europe in summers, with three color options Urban Grey, Dive Blue and Orange Flare. Pricings are yet to be confirmed.

So will you be willing to buy the Samsung Galaxy s4 Active? Do let me know in the comment section down below!

Google has again tweaked or lets say changed some corresponding and vital aspects of Gmail, in order to simplify it. The giant has announced a new kind of Inbox for Gmail which separated Social, Promotional and Update(s) emails from your Primary Gmail Inbox to specific category-based Inbox tabs.

This new Gmail Inbox simply organises your Emails in a glance to check way. It also lets you to filter certain email senders to specific tab and the drag-drop feature for handling your emails is worth using. Plus, you can even star emails to make them appear in the Primary tab, too.

This classified Gmail Inbox version is being rolled out for everyone, in couple of next weeks. But, If you’re willing to try it out before the normal delivery, select the Configure Inbox (if appears) through settings option inside your existing Gmail account and follow the on-screen instructions. For you’re convenience, We’ve posted the official release note of the new Gmail Inbox, right after the fold.

On the desktop, the new inbox groups your mail into categories which appear as different tabs. You simply choose which categories you want and voilà! Your inbox is organized in a way that lets you see what’s new at a glance and decide which emails you want to read when.

The new inbox is rolling out gradually. The desktop, Android and iOS versions will become available within the next few weeks. If you’d like to try out the new inbox on Desktop sooner, keep an eye on the gear menu and select Configure inbox when it appears in the Settings options.

You can easily customize the new inbox – select the tabs you want from all five to none, drag-and-drop to move messages between tabs, set certain senders to always appear in a particular tab and star messages so that they also appear in the Primary tab.

Every computer contains a number of highly sensitive internal components. These can be damaged if the device suffers a sudden shock, such as being dropped of sustaining a heavy knock against a solid object.

But mindful of the fact that more people are having to carry a computer around with them, in the form of a laptop, but particularly more recently, a tablet design, manufacturers have been keen to build more protective features into their machines.

This is especially the case as tablets are seeing rapid adoption in industries such as construction and engineering, which often involves them being taken onto sites where numerous hazards are present.

And not least, military authorities around the world are also demanding that these go-anywhere machines are given the sort of protection which is afforded to their personnel in their highly expensively-modified planes, ships and ground vehicles.

The greatest damage which can occur to a tablet computer from the user’s point of view is the destruction of its hard drive. Therefore, much research has been carried out with the aim of giving these optimum protection, and one of the most widely-used solutions is to enclose the drive in a solid case, which can be completely removed from the computer.

Screens are also another vulnerable area, and advances here have focused on using the toughest glass available for these. And this is now hitting the market in such quantities that it is even being seen on many mainstream models. Known as Gorilla Glass, its American developers specifically designed it to have all of the characteristics of less durable screen materials, but with extra chemical strengthening added, giving it resistance to water, chemicals and disinfectants.

Aside from the glass, a tablet computer’s external casing is the other element which affords the inner workings the protection they need. And while many tablet manufacturers use forms of plastic for their mainstream models, specialised sectors such as those described above demand greater protection. So suppliers in these fields have worked with tablet manufacturers to offer cases made of such metals as lightweight but extremely durable magnesium.

Another hazard which has been addressed by several tablet makers is their ability to operate in extreme temperatures. Here, as well as making the outer casings of their products as resistant as possible, special hard drive types have also been developed which have undergone testing in extreme heat and cold conditions.

Dust is also a major enemy of many sensitive electronic devices. If a tablet computer is to be taken into a dusty environment, all of its joints and external connections need to be kept protected, and manufacturers have addressed this often by encasing these areas with outer coatings, and using manufacturing processes designed to ensure that all parts fit together as precisely as possible.

But even if you buy a standard off-the-shelf tablet computer, it can be given extra protection above that provided by the manufacturer with a specially-designed case. Designed to fit tightly around it, it will provide you with a good surface with which to grip and carry it, as well as offering a valuable layer of extra protection against those sudden shocks and impacts which are inevitable with the fast pace of modern life.

Google has posted an Infographic media showing the evolution of Gmail, Since 2004 to It’s 9th Happy Birthday. The infographic shows the features and enhancements added to Gmail since It came into existence. Have a look on the long-tail curved Infographic below…
