What is jailbreaking?

Let’s start with the most simple of the questions and mention that jailbreaking is in fact the process that allows you to get access to extra-files that are not made available or hosted by Apple, all by using a special code. All in all, it removes the limitations imposed by Apple through the use of software and hardware exploits.
Cydia is an application installer with special unofficial status which allows you to get access to apps or tweaks that cannot be found anywhere else. By jailbreaking your device, you gain more control on things your device can do while crossing over the restrictions initially established by Apple.
All in all, it’s a win-win situation, especially because the extensions and tools provided once you start the jailbreaking of your device are created to aid you experience the best of what your iOS device has to offer.

What are the benefits of jailbreaking?

First of all, it’s comforting to know that you can get more than initially promised. A positive effect of jailbreaking your device is the diversity of features that comes right away. Regarding the graphical field, for example, it is known that Apple does not allow users to modify the icons’ shape or style while jailbreaking offers a wide range of themes meant to be personalized or simply to improve your visual experience.
There are also a number of extensions, tweaks and mods that target your iOS’s overall functioning. These suitable tools would let you increase and adjust the performance of your device. Most of the people chose to jailbreak their iOS because they wish to easily switch between different network carriers without too much fuss. A special software that can be found here will make it possible.

Is Jailbreaking Legal?

After a number of legal debates, jailbreaking was made legal in USA in 2010. Anyway, for the non-US citizens jailbreaking is also possible with the lowest chances possible to be held responsible for doing that. There are no cases of legal charges demanded by Apple.
Does Jailbreaking void my warranty?

This questions has a dual way of interpretation. On one side, yes, and you might be rejected by the Apple customer support team when trying to get your device back to them for no matter the reasons even though there are legal US amendments that declare jailbreaking perfectly legal.
On the other hand, you can play smart and restore your devices to the initial manufacturer settings in iTunes before ever taking them to an Apple Store. This way, they would never know you jailbreaked your device so they cannot brake your warranty contract. Either way, the worst thing that could happen is to avoid offering the support you need within their Stores.

Can I brick my iPhone if I Jailbreak?

Contrary to some ancient story about devices that got messed up after the jailbreaking occurred, nowadays it is merely impossible to do that.
In case your jailbreak and your device figuratively turns into stone you might as well get it back to the original factory settings in no time. In case you need help with doing that you can find a step-by-step solution here.

Is jailbreaking the same as unlocking?

No, we’re talking about two different processes here. For that matter, in order to unlock a device so you can be able to switch the carriers you must jailbreak it first. The apps, tweaks or extensions that come after jailbreaking will make unlocking possible. Want to continue reading about these two processes? More here.

Can I still use the iTunes and the App Store after jailbreaking?

This frequently asked question gets a simple answer: yes, you can. In fact, after jailbreaking, you can still go on doing things you did before with no notable restrictions. What’s new is Cydia, the application you get after jailbreaking whick allows you to get access to the jailbreaking community.

What is Cydia?

Actually, if you know what the App Store is then for sure you will know what’s about Cydia. Similar to the App Store, Cydia is your source of various apps, tweaks or extensions. Most of the things you can get them for free but there are some other for which you have to pay a simbolic amount of dollars.

Will Jailbreaking Prevent Me from Updating iOS?

Every time you try to update your iOS the device will reset itself to the manufacturer’s settings. A more practical solution is to do the backup to the device in question, install the newest iOS version you want and then proceed with the jailbreak again. Hackers usually try to keep up with the up and coming updates from Apple by creating jailbreakings that look just like them. That is why we are strongly advised not to go further and to the update but rather wait until the update in question is jailbreaked.

What are the different types of jailbreaks?

Tethered, semi tethered and untethered are the actual types of jailbreaking available. There’s an article entirely dedicated to this matter and it can be read here.

Can Jailbreaking Allow Me to Get App Store Applications for Free?

Before answering to the question on deck it is important to emphasize that piracy is not something encouraged by the app developers. Besides that, it’s incriminating and illegal. Nevertheless, yes, it can.

Is Jailbreaking Easy?

Although there are no special skills required, jailbreaking still needs a software to download and a solid connection between your iOS and the computer. Hence, you only have to run the provided software and enjoy the new acquired experience. However, if you’re not feeling ready you can check the video tutorials which contain explicit details about the steps you need to follow.

What is the best jailbreak tool?

There is no such thing like a best tool. All tools are continuously checked and updated in order to offer a real first class experience to the users that jailbreak. Moreover, the whole thing can vary due to various devices or software versions.

Does it Cost Anything to Jailbreak?

Actually, no, jailbreaking your device is charge-free. Users are highly advised never to pay for it. The makers often do stuff for free and rare are the cases when they actually ask for donations from users. Why paying for someone to jailbreak your device for you when you can do it by yourself by following the video tutorials that we provide?

Is The Apple iPhone 5C Worth Buying?

Hailed as the more affordable option of its premium counterpart, the Apple iPhone 5C has become a focal point of interest for Apple users, ever since it was announced. But is it really a phone worth investing in? This article will look into the main characteristics of the iPhone 5C, as opposed to the flagship iPhone 5.

Let’s cover the technical aspects first and go directly to the processor, where things are pretty much identical, since both devices make use of the same A6 chip, which should indicate similar performance. Analogies don’t end here, especially if comparing the software of the two models, which, again, are identical. It should be noted though that the iPhone 5 will get an update of its pre-installed iOS7 before the newer Apple iPhone 5C hits the market, however, other than that, users will notice no other differences. And as all aficionados of the iPhone know, the company has not introduced a microSD card slot option, not even in this new model, which, unlike previous versions, comes with only two choices instead of three: 16GB and 32GB.

What does the Apple iPhone 5C look and feel like?

In terms of form and design, the latest model looks pretty much the same as the original iPhone 5, except it’s a bit bulkier and will weigh by about 20 grams more in your pocket, since it is made of a cheaper material, namely plastic, although inside, it’s steel reinforced. There are however some pros to this, especially if you enjoy a more colorful experience: users can choose from five different nuances (green, white, pink, blue, yellow) and perhaps more importantly, you will get it new for less money, but we will get to that in a minute.

Is the battery any good?

To answer this question, we need to look at several performance indicators, starting with the screen, which is identical to the iPhone 5 model, meaning it has a resolution of 640 x 1136, 326 ppi and the same 4 inch Retina display.

While Apple says the front facing camera is much better on the iPhone 5C model, especially in dim light situations, similarities continue with the 8MP iSight rear camera, available on both models, although users of the iPhone 5C can play around with the features such as Instagram style filters or square shots, courtesy of a new app installed on the device (which, by the way, will become available on the iPhone 5 as well, together with the new software upgrade).

The last thing we want to consider before answering the battery lifecycle question is connectivity: the main aspect you need to consider here is that the iPhone 5C gets more support for the 4G LTE frequency bands, which in turn means increased compatibility with more network operators. Other than that, both models benefit by almost the same features from this point of view, meaning dual-band Wi-Fi, Lightning connector, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS.

Having said all this, how long will the 5C model last, battery-wise? Well, to put it shortly, you will be able to talk for about two hours more, or browse the internet for the same amount of extra time. According to Apple, stand-by mode is increased by around 25 hours, since the 5C has a larger battery, which is one of the reasons why it’s also a bit bulkier.

Do I buy it?

It’s entirely up to you. If you enjoy a bit of color in your life, then by all means, go for it. If connectiviy and 4G support is important, then keep in mind that this is an important new feature. If price is a criterion, then read ahead. We all know the iPhone 5 model has been discontinued, but for the sake of comparison, we analyzed prices for when it was on sale and compared them to the new iPhone 5C phone: regardless of version (16 or 32GB) the 5C is generally cheaper by about 50 to 60 pounds in the UK, but such a difference can hardly make the new iPhone 5C a budget model. Retail prices range from GBP 469 to GBP 549.

The best top cydia tweaks list (The black book of best cydia tweaks)

Let’s consider these scenarios: you bought your first iPhone or iPad; you decided give a first try or maybe a second chance to jailbreaking. Whatever the scenario it doesn’t matter because if you are looking to install some of the best tweaks you came to the right place. Today we are not going to limit ourselves to a just top 10 list, instead we will just present the top best cydia tweaks and as a bonus we are going to throw in a list of cydia tweaks for iPad.

Cydia houses lots of packages which most of them you will never see them in App Store because of the strict guidelines. These banned packages are mainly tweaks, themes and also apps. But because there are no restrictions in Cydia from all that volume of tweaks you are certainly going to find some worst tweaks. To save you having this problem I compiled a list with tweaks that cover functionality, appearance and utilities area that work on iPod, iPhone and iPad.

Winterboard is the first theme manager that was released when jailbreaking was launched. This tweak basically helps you change the appearance of you device and with the help of cydia you can browse and install any theme you want.

Dreamboard is the same as Winterboard but with a small difference. In Dreamboard when you apply a theme the changes are instantly where in Winterboard you must re-spring to see the changes.

Springtomize 2 is more like a package of tweaks that customize folders, dock, notification center and many more, pretty much anything on your device those . Considering that you get a bundle of tweaks you pay less the getting the similar tweaks individually.

Activator is one revolutionary tweak because you can access every function or launch any application with the help of a defined gesture on your screen or using the hardware buttons of your device. This way you can save time and access this much easier.

SBSettings is considered a veteran in the jailbreak world and also one of the reasons why many have jailbroken their devices. In combination with Activator you can access all the much needed toggles of your device just by simply swiping down from status bar. SBSettings will offer toggles for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Brightness and many other toggles, but you will also get some information about device.

Dashboard X is similar to SBSettings but instead of adding toggles it adds widgets. Widgets can be also added in home screen. If used in combination with Activator you can access custom Dashboard screen.

IntelliScreenX is that tweak which brings functionality to your lockscreen using Notification Center functions but with more freedom regarding accessing information from social networks or your email accounts.

Unfold is a simple tweak that changes the unlocking effect of your device. So by Fold-To-Unlock you just unlock your device just like folding a map.

AndroidLock XT this tweak is not an unlocking effect but more like an unlocking procedure where if you want to unlock your device you must use your defined unlocking pattern, just like in Android devices.

Recognize Me takes the security and unlocking procedure to a next level. Using biometric security your device will be unlocked using facial recognition. Setting up is simple, the setup will make you take several pictures.

NoLockScreen is tweak that contradicts IntelliScreenX. Instead of adding functionality to it why not remove it. Because there is toggle to disable this function, NoLockScreen adds that necessary toggle in Settings app so every time you hit Home button or Power button the device will show Home screen. Zephyr gives the multitasking capability to your device. Just by swiping from the bottom up you access the multitasking bar. Or if you want a simple way to switch between running apps you can swipe from the edge of the screen right to left or left to right. Another gesture is for closing an application just by swiping up.

SpringBoard Invaders is tweak that transforms your home screen into a game. We are all familiar with the game space invaders, so in our case the invaders are the application icons.

SpringBlock Breaker is another game transforming home screen tweak. This game is similar to block breaker.

Infini tweaks composed of InfiniBoard, InfiniFolders, InfiniDock remove the limit of your home screen. They just remove the maximum number of allowed apps in dock area, the maximum number of icons per folder.

Gridlock adds the possibility to move and place any icon on the screen.

WeatherIcon is a tweak that animates the Weather Icon app giving you real time weather info.

LiveClock is similar to WeatherIcon where instead of the static icon the Clock app icon you will see the exact time.

DeepEnd adds a 3D effect to your home screen or that apps are moving. This is also called the parallax effect.

Barrel is an interesting tweak because it adds a 3D effect when you slide through pages.

CyDelete is that tweak which helps you delete with ease a package that you don’t wont. It will let you delete cydia apps from your Springboard just like those apps installed from App Store.

Safari Download Enabler we all seen that if file is not supported by the iOS, Safari will not download that file. With Safari Download Enabler you can actually remove that limitation.

GridTab for Safari will add the possibility to have opened tabs in a 2×2 or 3×3 grid thus making easier surfing the web.

BiteSMS adds some interesting functions to iMessage and texting like passcode lock, templates, SMS schedule and many more. But the biggest features are that you can Quick Reply or Quick Compose from anywhere on your phone.

iFile is that missing important piece from iOS. iFile is the only file manager that you will ever need. But be extra careful, because iFile access your file system. It also supports well known media formats.

And as I promised let’s start our cydia tweaks for iPad.

Fullscreen For iPad is a tweak that will give fullscreen for your Safari web browser but it also brings some gestures that can be configured to ease your web browsing.

FullForece and RetinaPad are two tweaks that will make any application run in fullscreen mode.

Emblem will change the way you get notifications. It brings to your iPad that Mac notification feel, all notifications will be stacked in the corner of your screen.

SplitMail for iPad brings that split landscape feel of browsing through mails in landscape to portrait mode.

Quassar is more like a window enabler for apps. This will help you manage all your apps from the same screen without switching from screen to screen, in the process giving that desktop like feel of managing running apps.

Download Cydia for iOS 7 – evasi0n7 Untethered Jailbreak

Last year we have seen the launch of the new iPhone and was a welcomed event. But as the days turned to weeks, weeks into months the jailbreak community grew impatient. But by the end of last year all changed when an untethered jailbreak for iOS 7 was launched, those taking by surprise the entire community, including Jay Freeman aka Saurik.

evasi0n_website

The current jailbreak version of iOS 7 supports all iOS 7 versions except iOS 7.0.5. On the internet you can find both jailbreak versions tethered and untethered versions. But since the tethered version needs a connection between your iDevice and computer every time you boot your device I will recommend you should try the untethered version and this is why I’ve chosen to present you the untethered version.

evasi0n7

If you want to jailbreak your iPhone or any other iDevice follow these easy steps:evasi0n7_boot

1. If you have some important things on your device I suggest you should backup your iDevice.

2. Now head over to evasi0n.com and download the jailbreaking tool appropriate to your operating system.

3. Run the evasi0n 7 tool that you have downloaded.

4. Before we continue, if you have a Passcode Lock on your device now is the time to disable it. You can do this by opening Settings app and in General section and turn Passcode Lock off. If you have an iPhone 5s turn of Touch ID & Passcode. Now connect your device to your computer.

5. Now on your computer in evasi0n 7 click on the Jailbreak button and wait for evasion to do its work. This will reboot and install a temporarily jailbreak tool on your device.

6. When the time comes you will be prompted to open evasi0n 7 on your device those continuing the jailbreak procedure. During this time and after the procedure on the computer finishes the device will reboot a couple of times.

If you followed by the book these instructions right about now you should have a jailbroken device.
