Why Create A Backup?

You’ll never know when things will go terribly wrong, especially with these high-tech gadgets! This may be the worst case scenario but we need to make sure that all our data are safe even if our iDevices are stolen or we lose them.

Also, Apple releases several updates to its mobile operating system (iOS) and its a good practice to backup your device before updating to the latest iOS release.

Of course, upgrading to a new iDevice is inevitable and having a backup will make transfering all your data to the new gadget that much easier.

These are just some of the reasons why it is important to setup a backup for your device after getting them out of the box. This way you can be sure you won’t lose any of your app data, contacts, device settings, health data, iMessages and texts messages. Enabling iCloud Photo Library on your iDevice (iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch) and Mac will allow you to backup not only photos but videos as well.

Ways To Create Your Backup

There are two “official” ways to backup any iDevice – using iCloud and iTunes. You can also use both if you really want to be safe. The main difference between the two is where your backup data are store. When you use iCloud to backup, your data is store in a “cloud” (iCloud) storage. Using iTunes to backup your iDevice store the data locally on your PC or Mac.

You can access your backup from anywhere and anytime as long as there is internet connection if you used iCloud for backup. Creating your backup with iTunes, you can access your data using only the computer used to create the backup.

There are also third-party software which you can use to backup your iDevice if you so desire. Some of the software offer functionalities which iTunes lack. The main advantage of iTunes against these other alternatives is that iTunes is free.

For this article, I am going to show you how to backup your iDevices the quick and easy way.

Related Apps

Zydia creator warned that “some” apps and tweaks may not work because of the changes Apple had made to iOS. Also, these apps and tweaks may also not work due to the “various revoked certificates” by Apple. Nothing could be done about these so users are requested NOT to contact Zydia creator about such issues.

There are other Cydia alternatives like  iNoCydiaMojo InstallerTweakbox, and Zestia that are similar to Zydia. You can also try these if you want to experience Cydia on your device without jailbreaking it.

The best part after downloading and installing Zydia is adding all the available apps you want from the alternative appstore! Try out new themes for your iDevice or download some tweaks to further enhance the capabilities of your gadgets.

No need to worry of losing your warranty and you can always uninstall the app, game, theme or tweak if you found any of them not to your liking.
