Even though iOS 8.4 has some interesting features most iDevice users are starting to feel limited using their devices. Just like its predecessors iOS 8 has the same downsides. So, as a solution, they will jailbreak their iPhone or any other iDevice. For those who would like to know, jailbreak is the procedure in which you get root access those removing all the restrictions imposed by the manufacturer.
I think if I present you some of the nice benefits that you can get using Cydia may change your mind. You can find lots of apps that are not present in App Store that’s because it’s hard to be a developer as Apple requests so they end up posting their apps in Cydia. This is not all, beside apps you can find other things not present in App Store like tweaks. Tweaks can vary, from tweaks that can help you change the appearance using themes to tweaks that can change the whole UI interaction using gestures. Here you can also find ring tones, emulators and many more.
If all I said here was the inception I will continue this article to present you how to get all these. As I said before the jailbreaking will grant you root access. You can achieve this using one of the jailbreaking tools like evasi0n, redsn0w, sn0wbreeze, greenpois0n. The list doesn’t stop here, there are other tools, that work only on some platforms, or just have tethered or unteathered jailbreak. If you choose the tethered version you need to know that if you want to boot your jailbroken iDevice you need to have it connected to a computer. The untethered version is the most preferred method because is not computer dependent.
So how will you get cydia you may ask. Well I can walk you through the whole process. In my example I will use evasi0n on a iOS 7 device. First you will need to download and extract this tool. After running the program and connecting the device, evasi0n should detect your device. Now click Jailbreak. At a moment evasi0n will ask you to unlock and search your device for an icon called Jailbreak. Tap it and wait for the jailbreak to finish. After your device boots you will find the Cydia icon on you Home Screen then you can add cydia sources and install cydia apps. Not all tools are that simple, some of them need more tinkering.
