A new Jailbreak is waiting to be released, this time for iOS 10.2 firmware, a safari based exploit like JailbreakMe, as yalu102 jailbreak fame and yalu1011 aka Luca Tadesco an iOS security researcher announced. No more 7-day resigning they ensure us: “as solution to the 7 days thing, jbme102 may become a thing when 10.3 gets released“.
He also confirmed the “mystery man” statement that’s behind the failed Cydia Extender tool.
Cydia Extender was supposed to fix the 7-day signing problem with a IPA that was intended to be installed trough Cydia Impactor. The down side was that this IPA-fix worked just on payed developer accounts: “I was saurik’s “mistery man” for his thing, but didn’t find time to pull it off. Now I have time and 1day, so I’d rather do it jbme style.”
Not sure why he’s waiting for the iOS 10.3 release to unveil this jailbreak. Maybe he wants to see if this exploit works on iOS 10.3 and doesn’t want for it to get patched.
Not sure even if this jailbreak tool will be ever released, history has taught us that not every rumor will be a tool and there is this mention from Luca on the 1day WebKit: “Wrote an exploit for a WebKit 1day. And for f*ck’s sake PS4 unaffected because WebKit is too old.”
Also don’t get so excited, those who are running iOS on 32bit CPUs don’t think they’re gonna get Cydia with this iOS 10.2 jailbreak.
