Even though iOS 8.4 has some interesting features most iDevice users are starting to feel limited using their devices. Just like its predecessors iOS 8 has the same downsides. So, as a solution, they will jailbreak their iPhone or any other iDevice. For those who would like to know, jailbreak is the procedure in which you get root access those removing all the restrictions imposed by the manufacturer.
Jailbreaking is a term used to describe the removal of some hardware restrictions, mostly run through iOS operating system such as iPhone, iPod, iPad touch or Apple TV.
Unlocking, on the other hand, is a term used to describe the removal of SIM card or network restrictions already installed in devices that have GSM system to allow other networks to be used in the same gadgets. There is a big difference between jailbreaking and unlocking as follows:
Big Risk In Jailbreaking Unlike In Unlocking
Jailbreaking your iPhone simply means that you are removing the already installed safety measures to allow dangerous third party applications and programs to be run on your phone.
Your phone is then exposed to some security risks such as malware, compromising your phone warranty. When you unlock your phone, you are just getting rid of network restrictions which is not a risky thing to do and it is a safe regular process. This will allow you to be more flexible with the available networks, some which could perform better than the initial networks.
Jailbreaking requires a special program application used to remove all the restrictions. Recently, a program known as C3 update is being used by most phone users to jailbreak their iPhones.
Unlocking, on the contrary, uses a set of applications or instructions to unlock the same gadget. An application called Blacksnow has been used recently to unlock phones.
If you are looking to jailbreak and unlock your phone at the same time, you have to use a different approach. In most cases, you will have to jailbreak you phone first before unlocking it because it is impossible to do the vice versa.
Sometimes when you jailbreak your phone, it can automatically trigger unlocking because this process may have an unlocking mechanism in it.
Installation Vs. Elimination
Jailbreaking allows installation of unauthorized programs, softwares and applications from third parties, giving you total control of your phone and the freedom to access other tools that were not there before.
Unlocking, on the other hand, eliminates any network restrictions set up in your phone, giving you freedom to explore and test other networks or SIM cards for better functionality of your phone.
Most programs used to jailbreak hardware are normally free. You will just have to check the compatibility of your phone model to the desired jailbreak program. Jailbreak options are also offered on a wide variety online such that the choice is yours.
Unlocking your phone is an expensive affair because you have to go through the network companies for installation, you will also be subjected to networks terms and conditions and other relevant procedures.
Differences In Warranties
Once you jailbreak your phone, you are not guaranteed of the phone’s usefulness in years to come. Something may go wrong along the way and the phone manufacturers may not be too willing to help you, after all you have violated their standards of quality and safety. This means you will be spending more money to acquire new gadgets which may deem expensive as well.
Unlocking your phone just subjects you to new terms of agreement with the network of your choice and therefore no real harm is done and you get to use your phone or tablet for a life time.
Contrasting Phone Upgrades
As the iPhone manufacturers re-tweak their programs and systems amid new jailbreak programs, a phone user is not able to upgrade their phones as often as they would wish. In this day and age, it has become a competition between the manufacturer and the jailbreakers in creating new programs that outdo each other in this field, therefore making it hard for the phone user to make the necessary upgrade.
You may have to wait for months, weeks or days before a new version of a jailbreak program is available. Phone unlocking only changes the type of networks you are using and therefore, the phone upgrade is a viable option for these phone users as the unlocking does not alter other installed programs in the phone.
Altering the restricted phone network to incorporate other networks works to a great advantage to people who travel a lot because different locations use different networks, therefore you can travel with your unlocked phone everywhere without having to purchase another model to befit the network requirements.
Jailbroken phones, on the other hand, are a big hassle when you travel because of you may have installed applications that are only applicable in your home location, making it hard for you to operate in new locations.

DFU Mode is similar to Recovery Mode but the former is more complete and is used to solve more complicated iDevice issues and problems. The DFU Mode works on iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touches.
When troubleshooting an iPad, an iPhone or an iPod Touch, users normally use the Recovery mode. This is true when the device is stuck in a loop after an iOS update. The device may also not run properly because of corrupted data thus recovery mode is also used to correct the problem.
Uninstall an outdated (beta) version of the operating system.

Cydia Ipod Download : How To Install Cydia On Your iPod Touch – The iPod Touch, touted by Apple fans as “the iPhone without a phone”, has been around for quite some time now. The first generation iPod Touch was released way back in October, 2001. Today, we have the 6th generation iPod Touch released in July, 2015.
It’s been more than 2 years now since Apple released the 6th gen iPod Touch. Fans are still wondering if Apple would release a “new” or would update the iPod Touch for 2018. The chances are bleak according to this site. Also, try to visit the official Apple website and check out the menu. You will see Apple devices listed but the iPod is noticeable missing from the menu items. If you search the site for “iPod“, you will still find it and you can click the link to go to the page.
We will just have to wait for whatever plan the Cupertino Company has for its iPod line. In the meantime, user can get most out of their iPod Touch by downloading and installing the Cydia app on their devices.
For those not (yet) familiar with jailbreaking, Cydia is similar to the Official AppStore but it is for jailbroken devices. It is a mobile app package manager for jailbroken iDevices like the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Cydia gathers a slew of repositories that host tons of apps, mods, themes and tweaks to customize your device and make them more personal. Remember, these 3rd party apps, mod, themes and tweaks are NOT available from Apple’s AppStore. You can only get them by installing Cydia on your iPod Touch.
Cydia was created by Jay Freeman (also known as “Saurik“) and was released in February, 2008. Since then, it has become the most popular AppStore alternative in the jailbreaking world.
Why Should You Install Cydia On Your iPod Touch?
Apple’s iOS is a very restrictive (read: close) environment. This is the main reason behind the jailbreaking community. Jailbreaking allows iDevice users to break free of Apple’s confining platform and completely “own” their devices.
The most important reason for jailbreaking your iPod Touch is Cydia. As mentioned above, AppStore alternative Cydia has everything an iPod Touch user wants to improve and customize the device. You don’t have to search for Cydia iPod download as this post will show you how to install Cydia on your iPod Touch easily.
Cydia Ipod Download : How To Install Cydia On Your iPod Touch
This guide will show you how to jailbreak your 6th generation iPod Touch and install the Cydia app with the jailbreak. Since Cydia is not yet fully compatible with iOS 11 and above, we will restrict the jailbreak to Cydia compatible iOS versions (iOS 10.3 to iOS 10.3.3).
We will also be using the latest iPod Touch (6th Generation) for this procedure and the G0blin Jailbreak Tool. The G0blin Jailbreak Tool is a semi-untethered jailbreak compatible with 64-bit iDevices running iOS 10.3 to iOS 10.3.3. Canadian iOS developer, Sticktron, developed the G0blin jailbreak for developers and xPreeks , another iOS jailbreak developer, added Cydia & compiled the IPA for the masses to enjoy.
Just follow the steps below to jailbreak and install Cydia on your iPod Touch using G0blin Jailbreak.
Step 1. Backup your iPod Touch using iTunes or iCloud. Make sure that the PASSCODE is turned off.
Step 2. Download the G0blin ipa by clicking on this link.

How To Jailbreak iOS 10 With Pangu 9 : Quick And Easy Method
You will not need a computer for this jailbreak. All you need is your compatible iDevice with iOS 10.3.3 (or lower) version installed.
As you may know Apple does not allow installing Cydia on non-jailbroken iDevices. The official Appstore doesn’t have any app that will jailbreak your device (obviously). But user can install apps that has been officially approved by Apple.
This procedure involves installing Apple approved apps which had been injected with the jailbreak code and Cydia. When users download the app(s) and install it, the jailbreak and Cydia installation will run in the background.
Just follow the steps below to jailbreak your iOS device with Pangu.
Step 1. Make sure you are on iOS version 10.3.3. or lower by going to “Settings” > “General” > “About“, then scroll down until you see “Version” which tells you what iOS is installed on your device.
Step 2. Launch the Safari browser on your device and go to this link (http://pangu10.mobi/)
Step 3. Scroll down until you see the “Download the apps here” button. Tap on it.
Step 4. You will see this message :
Please note that Apple sometimes patches these jailbreak-injected apps! So if it doesn’t work on the first try, don’t panic, simply try again. We add new jailbreak-injected apps with Cydia all the time, and work hard to remove apps that have been patched. But sometimes you need try try a few times before you find a working one. We are sorry about this.
Step 5. Below this message is a link which says “Click here to download a random jailbreak-injected app“. Tap on it.
Step 6. You will then be asked if you want to open the page in the “Appstore“. Tap on “Yes” and the official Appstore will open.
Step 7. The Jailbreak injected app will now be available for you to download. Tap on the “Get” button to start downloading and installing the app.
Step 8. After installation, open the “injected” app to start the jailbreak/Cydia installation process. Wait a couple of minutes to allow the whole process to complete.
Step 9. Now, reboot your device and look for the Cydia icon on any of your screens. Tap on the Cydia icon to launch the app and to see if it is working. If you don’t see the Cydia icon on your device this means that the “injected” app has been patched and you need to try again.
Step 10. Wait for a few minutes and do Step 5 to Step 9 again. You should see a different “injected” app from the one you installed the last time. If you see the same app, you need to wait a little longer.
Step 11. Once a “different” app appears when you tap on the link, download and install the “injected” app again. Start the app to begin the jailbreak/Cydia installation process in the background.
Step 12. Do this procedure until you achieve jailbreak and have the Cydia app installed on your jailbroken iDevice.
You can watch the video below to see how the complete procedure is done.
You have just jailbroken your iOS 10 (or lower) device with Pangu. Now you can install all the apps, games, tweaks and other goodies that Cydia has to offer.
